James Wu

James (Jimmy) Wu is a prominent entrepreneur and investor based in New Zealand, serving as the Founding Partner of Zino Ventures since 2016, New Zealand’s first Chinese angel fund focused on supporting startups and entrepreneurs targeting global markets, particularly in China. Wu co-founded Payport Limited in 2012 and has been instrumental in its growth as a Director. As the Founder and Director of Gaowoo Group of Companies since 2005, Wu oversees a private investment vehicle concentrating on a diverse range of properties and technologies, with a strong commitment to sustainability. Additional ventures include positions as Founder/Director of Cosmopolitan Retirement Villages, and various investment roles in companies such as Limpidity Limited, Parrot Analytics, and Cirrus Materials Science. Wu is also recognized as an Angel Investor with ICE Angels, being the first Chinese investor to participate through the ICE Angel Group. Wu holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from The University of Auckland and a Bachelor of Construction in Quantity Surveying from Unitec.
