Jay Lobell

Jay Lobell is the CEO and co-founder of GMF Capital, a private equity investment firm focused on commercial real estate and healthcare. Prior to that, he co-founded and served as Vice Chairman of Beech Street Capital, a Fannie/Freddie/HUD lender that was sold to Capital One Bank in 2013. Jay also served for seven years as President of the nation's second-largest mortgage intermediary and, previous to that, as President of a biotechnology development and investment firm. Previous to that, Jay was a partner at Covington & Burling LLP, a national law firm, where he advised companies and individuals in a variety of regulatory, transactional and litigation matters. Jay received his BA summa cum laude from the City University of New York, and received his JD from Yale Law School, where he was Senior Editor of the Yale Law Journal. He currently serves on the board of Fortress Biosciences (NASD:FBIO) and several privately-held healthcare operating companies.
