Group Technology Director at ParentPay

Daniel Shea has extensive work experience in the technology sector. Daniel is currently working as the Group Technology Director at ParentPay since March 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Technology at GL Education from July 2022 to January 2023. Daniel also held the positions of Cloud Solution Architect and Software Platform Architect at GL Education from May 2021 to July 2022 and from September 2020 to April 2021, respectively.

Before joining GL Education, Daniel worked at Posit Software as a Director & Technology Architecture Consultant from August 2017 to August 2020. At Posit Software, they provided bespoke software development and consultancy services to various clients.

Daniel also gained experience as a Senior Software Developer and Software Developer at UNiDAYS from April 2016 to August 2017 and from June 2015 to April 2016, respectively. During their time at UNiDAYS, they contributed to the development of their multi-channel student acquisition and retention platform.

Additionally, Daniel worked as a Software Developer at ENSEK from September 2014 to June 2015, where they focused on the company's software platform for the energy sector. Daniel started their career as a Graduate Software Application Developer at TDX Group from October 2013 to August 2014, where they were involved in full development life cycle within an agile methodology.

Daniel also gained experience at Server Centre Hosting Ltd as an Application Support Engineer from May 2012 to October 2013. In this role, they provided support for the webhosting side of the business on both Linux and Microsoft servers.

Furthermore, Daniel had a summer placement at Hewlett-Packard in 2011, where they gained exposure to different areas of IT and business functions, including operational support of the data center and working with contract network engineers.

Overall, Daniel Shea has a strong background in technology and has held various positions in software development, architecture, and leadership roles.

Daniel Shea completed their Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with a focus on Law with Business from Nottingham Trent University from 2009 to 2012. Prior to that, they attended Stockton Sixth Form from 2007 to 2009. Daniel then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) in Management of Information Technology at the University of Nottingham from 2012 to 2013.
