Parents in Law is a network and events organisation for parents who work in the legal industry, launched by lawyers for law firms and their people. 
 
Parents in Law was started by two like-minded lawyers (Laura West and Sarah Arnold) who saw a need for an organisation to support both parents and those hoping to be parents working in the law and law firms in navigating the challenges of combining the journey to parenthood and parenthood with a career in the law. Parents in Law is for anyone working in the law for one of our member firms. It’s for those who hope to be parents, expectant parents, and parents with children of all ages (including grown up ones!) as well as our member firms employees who manage parents. 
 
Our firm members are all committed to supporting their employee and partner parents, and know that myriad business benefits result when parents are best placed to manage the 'juggle' between the work/home balance, return to work after periods of leave (whether maternity, paternity, post baby loss  or adoption leave) and hold an enhanced contact book. 
 
Parents in Law started by creating a network of parents working in the law, to harness the collective knowledge in the sector for common good via networking opportunities, peer support, mentoring and business development opportunities for those we are collectively calling "parents" regardless of whether or not they have a child. We will shortly be organising our first events. 

In due course we will also look to support our member firms and parents and parents to be through difficult conversations, for example, around IVF treatment, miscarriage or baby/child loss by connecting managers with parents who can share their first hand experiences of the same and other educational and fun projects which make balancing our most important job (being mum or dad!) with a successful career in the law.
