Luca Weber has a comprehensive work experience in the insurance and risk management sector. They started their career as an Internship Windstorm Researcher at PartnerRe, where they analyzed historical claims data to support the implementation of the company's proprietary hurricane risk assessment. They later joined PartnerRe as an Exposure Specialist/Risk & Research, where they developed exposure data analytics tools and created an Exposure Data Warehouse. They then moved on to the role of Research Scientist, focusing on the development and validation of proprietary catastrophe models. In their most recent role at PartnerRe as the Cat Tools and Technology Lead, Luca led the development of catastrophe modeling, pricing, and reporting applications in close collaboration with IT. Additionally, Luca served as a Member of the Advisory Board at Klimastiftung Schweiz.
Luca Weber obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Environmental Science from ETH Zürich from 2008 to 2011. Subsequently, from 2011 to 2013, they pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Atmospheric and Climate Sciences, as well as Environmental Sciences, also at ETH Zürich.
