Markus Senn

Global Head Of Strategic Data Science at PartnerRe

Markus Senn has over 15 years of work experience in various roles. Markus started their career in 2004 with an internship at C.I. Chala y Cía., where they implemented scheduling and inventory management modules for an ERP system. Markus then worked as a Junior Assistant and Research and Teaching Assistant at Universität Bern from 2005 to 2014. In 2010, they served as a Board Member at Brero + Co. AG, a small firm in the machine industry, contributing to strategic decisions and maintaining client relationships. From 2014 to 2015, they worked as a Visiting Lecturer at Stockholm School of Economics. Markus joined PartnerRe in 2015 and held various roles, including Data Scientist, Senior Data Scientist, and Head of Analytics for the Life & Health division in Europe. Currently, they serve as the Global Head of Strategic Data Science at PartnerRe.

Markus Senn completed their education as follows:

- From 2002 to 2005, they obtained their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Bern.

- In 2005, they participated in an Erasmus Exchange Program at the University of Tampere, focusing on Corporate Finance.

- From 2005 to 2008, they pursued their Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Business Administration and Management, General, again at the University of Bern.

- In 2007, they gained experience as a Visiting Scholar in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies at The Wharton School.

- In 2011, they furthered their studies as a Visiting Scholar in Corporate Finance at The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business.

- Finally, from 2008 to 2014, they completed their doctoral degree (Dr. rer. oec.) in Corporate Finance at the University of Bern.
