Derrick Mimbe is an accomplished public health professional with extensive experience in infectious disease detection and surveillance. Currently serving as the IDDS Project Director at PATH since January 2020, Derrick focuses on researching emerging infectious diseases and enhancing laboratory informatics in Uganda and globally. Previously, Derrick held the position of IDDS Team Lead Uganda, providing technical direction and leadership for USAID activities. Derrick's diverse background includes a decade as Program Manager at Makerere University Walter Reed Project, overseeing projects related to emerging infectious diseases, and experience as a Data Manager at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Derrick's educational qualifications include a Master of Public Health and advanced training in clinical research and emerging infectious diseases.
