Smita Das

Smita Das is a seasoned professional in the field of public health and epidemiology, currently serving as a Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at PATH since March 2021. Previously, Smita held the position of Vaccine-Preventable Disease Epidemiologist at the New Mexico Department of Health from July 2019 to February 2021 and worked as a Post-doctoral Research Scholar at Arizona State University from August 2018 to June 2019. Smita's career began with various roles at PATH from April 2015 to June 2018, including Scientific Program Officer and Scientific Laboratory Associate. Academic credentials include a PhD in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (2010-2015), along with a BS in Microbiology and a BA in Germanic Languages from Indiana University Bloomington (2006-2010). Smita has also conducted significant research on the foraging behavior of Anopheles mosquitoes in Zambia and studied STIs and HIV services for incarcerated women in the United States.
