Ashwin Nehete has a diverse work experience in the field of robotics and engineering. From 2017 to present, they have worked at several companies and universities, including Autonomous Ground Vehicle Research Group, Curtiss-Wright Industrial Group, Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Carnegie Mellon University, MoonRanger, and Path Robotics.
At Autonomous Ground Vehicle Research Group, Ashwin served as an Undergraduate Student Researcher and the Mechanical Team Lead, where they contributed to the Mechanical vertical of the team and secured 2nd position at the IGVC competition. Ashwin also conducted computer-aided modelling, simulation of the autonomous robot vehicle chassis on Solidworks and its structural analysis on ANSYS software.
At Curtiss-Wright Industrial Group, Ashwin worked as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern and Quality Engineering Intern. In the Manufacturing and Production Department, they implemented image processing during job assembly to significantly reduce part rejection percentage and acquired knowledge on PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effect Analysis). In the Quality Engineering Department, they conducted lever break test, spring force test and worked on CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) to inspect the dimensional accuracy of the job.
At Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, Ashwin served as an Undergraduate Student Researcher in the Laser Material Processing Lab.
At Carnegie Mellon University, Ashwin worked as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Computational Engineering and Robotics Lab (CERLAB), Course Assistant in 24-678 Computer Vision for Engineers, Summer Research Fellow in CERLAB, and Course Assistant in 24-787 Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Engineers.
At MoonRanger, Ashwin worked as a Software Engineer - Autonomy.
At Mahindra Rise, Ashwin was part of the Mahindra Rise Prize Challenge, where they contributed towards mechanical design and manufacture of various sensor mounts on the vehicle.
Finally, Ashwin is currently working at Path Robotics as a Robotics Engineer.
Ashwin Nehete obtained a B.Tech in Manufacturing Sciences and Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur between 2016 and 2020. Ashwin then pursued an MS (Research) in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University, which they are currently enrolled in and is expected to complete in 2022. Additionally, they have obtained a Level I Certification from Robocorp in October 2022, a Python (Basic) Certificate from HackerRank in June 2021, and an AI For Everyone Certificate from Coursera in April 2020.
