Derek Welch is currently the President and Chief Medical Officer at Pathgroup, a position held since 2003. They serve as an Executive Advisor for Digital Transformation at Proscia and are a board member at MUSE Microscopy Inc, both roles beginning in 2025. Derek obtained a Medical Doctorate from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 2000 and completed residency training in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology there in 2006. They hold a Bachelor of Arts in Bio-Ethics/Philosophy and Biology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, earned in 1996, and completed additional coursework at the Indiana University - Kelley School of Business from 2020 to 2021.
