PathologyExpert, Inc., headed by Dr. Judy Melinek, is a medico-legal consulting firm and educational resource center for forensic pathology. Dr. Melinek has subspecialty training in neuropathology and a special interest in wound interpretation, gunshot wound trajectory, medical malpractice, and wrongful death legal cases. Dr. Melinek is an American Board of Pathology board-certified forensic pathologist. She contracts with the Alameda County Sheriff-Coroner's Office to conduct autopsies and she performs medico-legal case reviews for both criminal and civil cases. 

In addition to Dr. Melinek's work in forensic pathology, she and her husband, TJ Mitchell, are co-authors of the New York Times best-selling memoir, "Working Stiff: Two Years, 262 Bodies, and the Making of a Medical Examiner".
