Carl Prins

Co-Founder and CEO at Pathzero

Carl Prins has a diverse work experience, with positions ranging from Co-Founder and CEO to Trainee Accountant. Most recently, they co-founded and became CEO of Pathzero, a company focused on accelerating the decarbonization of the global economy. Prior to that, they worked as an Entrepreneur at Antler. From 2016 to 2019, Carl was the Co-Founder and CEO of Handled, a leading energy comparison company in Australia. Carl also served as the Chief Financial Officer at Reinventure Group for a brief period in 2016. Before that, they held positions at Nearmap, Macquarie Group, and Arrowgrass Capital Partners LLP, where they served as the Chief Financial Officer and played a critical role in designing and delivering a sophisticated financial infrastructure. Carl began their career as a Trainee Accountant at Deloitte South Africa.

Carl Prins has a solid education background in accounting and finance. Carl obtained their Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting Sciences from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria, studying from 2000 to 2002. Prior to that, they completed their secondary education at Pretoria Boys High School from 1994 to 1999.

In 2003, Carl received an Honorary Degree in Accounting Sciences from the University of Pretoria/Universiteit van Pretoria. It is noteworthy that the start and end years for their studies at the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants are not provided. However, they did obtain a CA (Chartered Accountant) qualification from this institute before 2007.

Additionally, Carl Prins holds an additional certification as a Registered Climate Active Consultant, which was obtained in March 2021 from the Department of Industry, Science, Energy, and Resources.
