Patrick J. Balthrop Sr

In addition to serving as an independent Director of Pattern, Pat also serves as Chairman of Discovery Life Sciences, the world leader serving researchers in biospecimens and scientific services; and as Chairman of Agendia, NV, a leader in clinical application of genomic science in breast cancer. He is an advisor to Water Street Healthcare Partners and the Founding Principal of Apalachee Ventures, an investment and advisory firm. Pat previously served as President and CEO of Luminex Corporation from 2004 until his retirement in 2014. Under his leadership, Luminex grew from $30 million in revenue to more than $200 million and was honored by Forbes and Fortune as one the fastest growing technology companies in America. Prior to Luminex, Pat served as President at Fisher Healthcare (then Fisher Scientific) and held a number of positions within Abbott Laboratories, including President of Abbott Vascular and Corporate VP, Worldwide Commercial Operations. Pat obtained an MBA from Northwestern University and a BS in Biology from Spring Hill College.
