John Pratt has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. John most recently served as the Chief Technology Officer at Pattern Labs starting in August 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Lead at Tortuga AgTech from March 2021 to September 2021. Before joining Tortuga AgTech, John was a Senior Robotics Software Engineer at Amazon from October 2020 to March 2021.

John spent a significant part of their career at CANVAS Technology (acquired by Amazon) as a Software Engineering Manager from April 2019 to October 2020. John also held the role of Head of Software Development at CANVAS Technology from December 2018 to April 2019. In addition, John served as a Robotics Embedded Software Engineer at CANVAS from July 2016 to December 2018, where they focused on computer vision, SLAM, and embedded firmware development.

Prior to their tenure at CANVAS, John worked at Qualcomm in various senior staff engineer/manager roles from September 2013 to July 2016, October 2011 to September 2013, and as a staff engineer from June 2009 to October 2011. John initially started their career at Qualcomm as an engineer and intern from May 2004 to June 2009.

In addition to their industry experience, John also worked as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Colorado Boulder from August 2012 to March 2015. John began their professional journey as an intern at Los Alamos National Lab from May 2001 to August 2002.

Before embarking on their professional career, John served as an Artilleryman in the US Army from September 1997 to September 2000. With a diverse background ranging from military service to leadership roles in software development and engineering, John brings a wealth of experience to their work.

John Pratt attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. During the same period, they also pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Electrical Engineering from the same institution.
