Lead User Experience Designer at Pattern

Edward Holmes V has a diverse work experience in various roles related to design and user experience. Edward began their career as a Bookstore Workstudy at East Central Community College from May 2010 to June 2012.

Edward then worked as a Shop Assistant at d+p Design Build, LLC from August 2017 to June 2018, where they assisted in fabricating custom furniture and ensured quality control in the manufacturing process.

Edward also worked as an Architectural Intern at Method Studio from July 2016 to July 2017. In this role, they designed and organized building plans and drawing sets, conducted research on building code guidelines, and coordinated with project managers and engineers.

From June 2016 to June 2016, they served as the Design Discovery Co-Director at Mississippi State University, where they directed and coordinated events for a 1-week architectural summer workshop for high school graduates. Edward also served as a Design Discovery Assistant Co-Director in June 2015, instructing students through architectural exercises.

Edward gained experience as a Designer at HK Architects from July 2018 to May 2019. Edward represented ideas through graphics, sketches, renderings, and 3-D modeling, and coordinated with project managers, project architects, engineers, and clients.

Edward's UX design experience includes working as a UX Designer at DevMountain Student UX Designer from June 2019 to August 2019. Edward researched, designed, and created a teacher dashboard experience, created wireframes and prototypes, and received feedback from instructors.

Currently, Edward is working at Pattern® since October 2019. Edward started as a User Experience Designer and was promoted to Senior User Experience Designer in July 2021. Edward is currently serving as the Lead User Experience Designer. In these roles, they are responsible for researching, designing, and prototyping user experiences related to warehouse management, product ordering, and product information management. Edward coordinates requirements with development teams, manages design and development tasks, and collaborates with stakeholders.

Throughout their career, Edward has demonstrated a strong ability to research, design, and prototype user experiences, as well as collaborate with teams and stakeholders to meet business needs. Edward has a background in architecture, which has informed their design and problem-solving skills in the UX field.

Edward Holmes V began their education in 2010 at East Central Community College, where they pursued an Associate in Science degree with a focus on science. After completing their two-year program in 2012, they enrolled at Mississippi State University to pursue a Bachelor of Architecture degree. Edward studied architecture for six years and graduated in 2018. In 2019, Edward attended Devmountain to further their education in UX Design through an immersive program. During their time at Devmountain, they obtained a certification in UX Design in September 2019.
