Leigh Schaefer

Leigh Schaefer is a highly experienced data scientist with a strong background in machine learning and data analysis. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at Pave since May 2023, Leigh previously held the position of Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Alloy, where responsibilities included developing machine learning infrastructure for fraud risk scoring and optimizing data processing with AWS tools. Earlier experience as a Data Scientist involved deploying fraud models with high recall rates. Leigh completed a fellowship at Insight Data Science, launching an innovative web application for route planning. Academic credentials include a PhD in Physics from the University of Pennsylvania, where research focused on particle detection at CERN, along with a Bachelor's degree from Bryn Mawr College, graduating magna cum laude.
