Scott Bates is an accomplished engineering executive with extensive experience in software development and engineering management. Currently serving as the VP of Engineering at Pax8 since July 2018, Bates has also held positions including Senior Director and Director of Software Engineering and Principal Software Engineer within the same organization. Prior to Pax8, Bates worked at Bandwidth.com as a Software Development Manager, where responsibilities included coordinating the software development for a 911-routing system. At Raytheon, Bates was instrumental in implementing critical subsystems for the Joint Polar Satellite System, focusing on flight dynamics applications and encryption key synchronization. Bates began a career in software engineering at Hewlett-Packard, contributing as both an intern and software engineer. Bates holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, obtained in 2003.
