Ryan Kenney

Ryan Kenney has a diverse work experience in the field of technology, especially in DevOps engineering and software development. Ryan'smost recent position was as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Paxos since November 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Penn Interactive as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer from July 2022 to November 2022.

Before joining Paxos and Penn Interactive, Ryan had a significant tenure at Storyblocks as a Lead Software Engineer from April 2020 to July 2022. During their time at Storyblocks, they played a crucial role in migrating ECS-based microservices and monoliths to EKS and implemented an end-to-end testing pipeline for selenium and cypress tests.

At Coveros, Ryan held multiple roles, starting as a Senior DevOps Engineer for Internal IT from January 2020 to April 2020. Ryan led a team and developed a CI/CD pipeline for various websites, utilizing Chef Solo, Debian packages, and Jenkins. Ryan also migrated infrastructure to AWS.

Prior to this, Ryan served as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Exostar from June 2019 to January 2020, where they focused on implementing a containerized deployment process for their SAM product using Kubernetes and other tools.

Ryan's work experience at Coveros also includes a role as a DevOps Engineer for PECOS 2.0 from October 2017 to June 2019. In this position, they developed core pipeline libraries and automated the installation, deployment, and maintenance of devops infrastructure in OpenShift.

Before their tenure at Coveros, Ryan worked as a Technical Architect and Application Developer for FFM from August 2015 to June 2017. Ryan provided code reviews, guidance on application development, and taught new developers and architects on leveraging technology stacks. Ryan was also responsible for maintaining the project's development VM and gave presentations on internal frameworks and project tools.

Ryan's early work experience includes an internship at Coveros, where they contributed to the Active Authentication research project. Ryan conducted testing and implementation of machine learning algorithms using Python and C++.

Outside of their technology career, Ryan served in the Virginia Army National Guard from April 2010 to April 2016 as an Infantryman, starting as a lower enlisted soldier and eventually becoming a Sergeant.

Prior to their military service, Ryan worked as an Assistant Manager at Subway from June 2008 to May 2012.

Ryan Kenney completed their education at James Madison University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they attended Blue Ridge Community College from 2009 to 2011 and obtained an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Computer Science. In terms of additional certifications, Ryan obtained the Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 7 Programmer certification from Oracle in January 2013. In April 2012, they also obtained the Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 7 Programmer certification. Furthermore, Ryan obtained the Oracle Certified Associate, Java SE 5/SE 6 certification in April 2011.
