John Hawkins

John Hawkins is the current Director at PayActiv, a financial technology company that provides employees with access to earned wages before payday. Prior to their current position, Mr. Hawkins was a General Partner at Burr, Egan, Deleage & Co., a venture capital firm which they joined in 1987. At Burr, Egan, Deleage, Mr. Hawkins invested mainly in telecommunications, data communications, software, and business services companies.

Before joining Burr, Egan, Deleage & Co., Mr. Hawkins was an advisor in corporate finance at Alex. Brown & Sons, Inc. Advising information technology companies in the areas of financial strategy, public offerings and mergers & acquisitions.

Mr. Hawkins has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector and has been instrumental in the growth and success of numerous businesses. John is a highly respected figure in the industry and their advice and expertise is sought after by many.

John Hawkins attended Boston Latin School before going on to study English Language and Literature, General at Harvard University. John then completed an MBA in Finance at Harvard Business School.
