Simon Hall

Simon Hall is currently the CTO at Payaut. Prior to that, they were the Chief IT Architect at BCG Platinion from September 2017 to July 2021. In that role, they worked with clients to guide them through complex strategic decisions and operational challenges, with a focus on digital and data platforms. Simon helped clients become more effective and innovative by shifting to agile and customer-journey based operating models supported by data-oriented architectures.

Some of Simon's notable accomplishments include being a leader of technology projects focusing on Digital & data platforms, IT architecture, IT strategy, IT operating model design and implementation following DevSecOps, Agile, SRE, etc. Simon has also supported 15+ projects across multiple industries & geographies, and conducted 100+ interviews of tech talent from engineer to CTO for BCG Platinion and for our clients.

Simon has a wealth of experience with various technologies, including cloud computing (esp. Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform), infrastructure automation (e.g. Ansible & Azure ARM), containers and microservices (incl. Kubernetes & RedHat OpenShift), DevOps (incl. Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Artifactory, etc.), IT4IT (incl. ServiceNow, Jira, Confluence, etc.), API and enterprise integration, banking technology (incl. Core Banking, Payments and Channel Solutions), data platforms and databases, and applied artificial intelligence. Simon also has significant industry experience in banking (with a specialization in Digital Banking), insurance, media, consumer packaged goods (CPG), and automotive.

They are on a team with Maarten Zoet - Head of Product, Libby Fox - Head of People & Culture, and Nelly Doudina - Chief Risk & Compliance Officer. Simon Hall reports to Ernst van Niekerk, Founder & CEO.
