Daniel Johnson

Daniel Johnson has spent the past 25 years operating businesses in healthcare IT. He started two companies during this time and created a US healthcare business for global data/analytics giant Experian. Most of Dan's career in healthcare has been focused on developing data driven software solutions for hospitals and physician group practices, although the past five years focused primarily on payers, pharmacy chains, and pharmaceutical companies.

Dan was founder and CEO of MedServe Link in 1994 that pioneered utilizing the Internet to facilitate the secure transfer of administrative transactions between payers and providers in Minnesota, a service called Minnesota MedNet which was acquired by Siemens in 2001. Later that year Dan founded SearchAmerica, a Minnesota based company that developed software that is used today by more than 3,700 hospitals and 10,000 group practices to financially clear patients as they move through the system. In 2009 Dan was awarded E&Y's Entrepreneur Of The Year for the upper Midwest region.

In 2008 Experian acquired SearchAmerica and Dan remained on board to grow the newly created Experian Health into a revenue cycle management leader. Over the next 10 years at Experian Dan lead several acquisitions and the development of innovative new software products that today are used by providers, payers, and pharmacies across the US to streamline administrative process, and facilitate the efficient flow of payments and patient data between the constituents in healthcare.

Since leaving Experian in 2018 Dan has advised several healthcare focused private equity companies and became chairman of the board of an early stage Minnesota identity management company, Token Of Trust.

Dan lives in Wayzata, MN with his wife and their four teenage kids. He has been a frequent speaker to business classes at the Carlson School of Management, and since 2014 has served as a member of the advisory board for the Masters of Science in Business Analytics at the Carlson School.
