David Koser has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. David started their professional career as a SURE Intern at The Hormel Institute in 2014. David then worked as a Cashier at Dollar Tree Stores and as a Sales Associate at Sherwin-Williams Paints in 2015. In 2016, they joined Arkema, first as a Quality Control Laboratory Technician and later as an Arkema Integrated Management System (AIMS) Coordinator. David gained experience in greenhouse and nursery production as a Greenhouse and Nursery Production Intern at Bachman's Inc. in 2019. In 2020, they worked as an Assistant Project Manager at Prairie Restorations, Inc.
David's interest in horticulture led him to pursue a Master of Professional Studies in Horticulture degree at the University of Minnesota from 2018 to 2020. During their time there, they also worked as a Software Engineer II at Olive from 2021 to 2022. At Olive, they utilized a variety of tools and technologies including AWS, React, and TypeScript to develop internal services and automate tasks for medical clients.
David further expanded their technical skills as a Full-Stack Web Developer at DevMountain Student Developers from 2021 to 2021. Here, they worked on a project focused on backyard restoration, gaining experience in various technologies such as AWS AppSync, Express, and Next.js.
Most recently, David worked as a Contract Software Engineer and is currently employed as a Software Engineer III at PayGround, starting in 2023.
David Koser has a diverse education history. In 2011, they graduated from Austin, MN Senior High School and obtained a High School Diploma. During this time, they also attended Riverland Community College, where they earned another High School Diploma. Koser then pursued their Bachelor of Arts in Biology at St. Olaf College from 2011 to 2015. Following that, they attended the University of Minnesota from 2018 to 2020 and acquired a Master of Professional Studies degree in Horticulture.
In 2021, Koser attended Devmountain and completed a Certificate program in Web Development. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Learn TypeScript Course, Learn D3 Course, Learn Git Course, Learn HTML Course, and Learn the Basics of Regular Expressions Course from Codecademy in 2021. David also obtained a Data Analytics for Business Professionals certification from LinkedIn in 2020. Furthermore, Koser obtained a Minnesota Commercial Pesticide Applicator License from the DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE MINNESOTA in 2020.
