Scott Buchanan

Scott B. serves as the Executive Director of the Student Loan Servicing Alliance since December 2018 and is an Advisory Board Member at Payitoff since April 2021. As Principal Consultant at Merak Associates LLC since 2015, Scott B. manages engagements related to business development, marketing, regulatory, and legislative strategy for financial services companies. Previous roles include Senior Vice President of Business Development and Government Relations at CBE Companies, where responsibilities included strategic growth initiatives and overseeing government relations, and Vice President positions at both Navient and Sallie Mae, focused on business development and government affairs. Scott B. holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Davidson College and a Master’s degree in Public Policy from George Mason University.
