Deborah Ortega

Deborah Ortega has extensive experience in legal analysis and corporate governance, currently serving as Sr. Legal Analyst and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Payless ShoeSource since January 2013. In this role, Deborah oversees corporate governance and compliance processes for both domestic and international legal entities, manages contract administration, records retention, and litigation reporting. Prior to this, Deborah held several positions at Collective Brands, Inc., including Executive Assistant to both the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer. Experience also includes serving as Assistant to the Mayor of the City of Topeka from 1984 to 1989. Deborah holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management from Friends University and is currently pursuing a Six Sigma Yellow Belt at Washburn University.
