Aly Megahed

Aly Megahed has extensive experience in data science and machine learning, currently serving as the Senior Manager of Data Science and Machine Learning at PayPal since September 2025, leading a team of approximately 22 individuals in Venmo's data science division. Prior experience includes roles at Meta, where Aly was a Data Science Tech Lead Manager from August 2021 to August 2025, overseeing the expansion of the App Foundation data science team and managing a tech lead staff data scientist position within the video infrastructure team. At IBM, from June 2014 to August 2021, Aly served as an AI Manager, successfully leading projects that generated a verified $350 million business impact while also working as a Research Scientist. Aly's academic background includes a PhD and an MS in Industrial and Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, complemented by teaching experience as an adjunct faculty member at Southern Polytechnic State University.
