Gal Toledano is currently a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at PayPal since December 2025. Prior to this role, Gal served as a Bioinformatics Software Developer at Tel Aviv University from July 2023 to January 2026, where an open-source pan-genomic bioinformatic tool was developed using Python, Snakemake, and Bash. Gal has previous experience as a Data Scientist at Nilus and at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where responsibilities included developing bioinformatics pipelines and analyzing genomic data. Gal holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Computational Biology from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, complemented by various teaching assistant roles in computer science. Prior to academia, Gal worked as a Quality Assurance Engineer at Everysight and served as a Simulator Instructor in the Israeli Air Force.
