George Wang

George Wang is an AI Research Scientist at PayPal since October 2020, where leadership in AI/ML technology research and development has been demonstrated, alongside representation at conferences and creation of innovative solutions for millions of users. Prior to this role, George Wang served as a Visiting Scientist at the Simons Institute for the Theory of Computing, focusing on optimization, sampling, and various advanced theories. At SUNMI, from November 2019 to June 2020, George Wang directed research in computer vision and machine learning, enhancing existing systems significantly. George Wang also contributed to AI product development in medical imaging as a Senior Research Scientist at Siemens Healthineers, where junior team members were supervised. Additionally, experience includes work as a Consultant at Jump Trading LLC and an Algorithmic Trader Intern. George Wang holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and the University of Florida, respectively.
