John Verdi

John Verdi is a seasoned privacy and legal professional with extensive experience in both the private and public sectors. Currently serving as Senior Director of Global Privacy at PayPal since September 2025, John previously held the position of Senior Vice President of Policy at the Future of Privacy Forum from May 2016 to September 2025, where John led initiatives on data protection and privacy safeguards. Prior roles include Director of Privacy Initiatives at the U.S. Department of Commerce, where John focused on privacy, security, and big data policies, and General Counsel at the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), advocating for privacy protections. John's legal expertise was also honed as an Associate Attorney at Bode & Grenier LLP and as a Freelance Web Developer earlier in the career. Educational credentials include a Doctor of Law from Harvard Law School and a magna cum laude Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Law from Binghamton University.
