Matt Jacobs

Matt Jacobs is a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at PayPal, where they leverage their extensive experience in data science and machine learning. They earned a master’s degree in physics from UCLA, where they also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and contributed to significant research projects, leading to multiple publications. Prior to their role at PayPal, Matt worked as a Data Scientist and developed a real-time misinformation classification web app during a fellowship at Springboard. Early in their career, they conducted research at the UCLA Plasma Science and Technology Institute and the UCLA Neuroscience and Genetics Research Center, gaining valuable skills in data analysis and algorithm development.
