Ryan Welch

Ryan Welch is a seasoned senior commercial and general management leader currently serving as the Director and Head of Global Partnerships, BNPL and Ventures Advisor at PayPal, where they lead the Pay Later business unit. Previously, Ryan held roles including Commercial Director at Klarna, where they facilitated the integration of Close Brothers Retail Finance post-acquisition and significantly grew the user base in the UK. Ryan co-founded Close Brothers Retail Finance, which was recognized for its innovation before being acquired by Klarna in 2018. Ryan also held strategic positions at Close Brothers and EY, where they gained extensive experience in business development and financial restructuring. They earned a first-class degree in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham and are a Chartered Accountant.
