Rakesh Kulangara has a diverse work experience spanning several fields. Rakesh began their career as a Network Support Engineer at Novell in 2003 and later worked as a Software Engineer at Intel from 2004 to 2006. Rakesh then joined Dell India R & D Centre as a Sr PG Test Engineering Analyst from 2006 to 2008.
In 2009, Rakesh worked as a Consultant at US Tech Solutions, where they conducted penetration testing and vulnerability assessments for consumer-facing websites and web applications. Rakesh also carried out manual and automated vulnerability scans, creating accurate vulnerability assessment reports.
From 2009 to 2012, Rakesh worked as a Senior Engineer at Kontiki, where they were responsible for test strategy, planning, and automation for a peer-assisted system for Internet delivery of data and live streams. Rakesh significantly improved the product quality and release time by scaling testing from a handful of systems to over 150 systems. Rakesh also designed and developed a test automation framework that reduced testing setup time.
In 2012, Rakesh co-founded Stalwart Labs, where they created a mobile app based on the DIY Electronics kit "littleBits". The software was ultimately sold to littleBits after achieving success on major mobile platforms.
From 2012 to 2013, Rakesh worked as a Product/QA Manager at Callaway Digital Arts, where they managed QA planning and execution for a suite of chart-topping children's applications. Rakesh successfully reduced the app crash percentage from over 8% to 0%.
Rakesh joined Amazon Lab126 in 2013 as a Software Development Engineer in Test II. During their time there, they designed and developed a client-server app to detect memory leaks in Amazon FireOS using regression analysis techniques. Their system helped detect and analyze over 100 memory leaks.
Since 2014, Rakesh has been working at PayRange, starting as a Technical Product Owner and Senior Engineer. Rakesh is currently serving as the Director of Product Engineering. PayRange is a mobile payment solution for vending, parking, transit ticketing, laundry, amusement, and more. Rakesh plays a key role in ensuring simple setup, simple operation, and simple pricing for PayRange's products.

In 2015, Rakesh obtained certifications in "How to Build Habit-Forming Products" from Udemy and "MongoDB Developers Training" from MongoDB, Inc.
