Jason Phelps

Jason Phelps is a seasoned communications professional with extensive experience in external communications and media relations. Currently serving as Senior Director of External Communications at PBS since September 2022, Phelps previously held pivotal roles at Climate Power as Advisor & Director of National Media, and at Giffords as Deputy Communications Director and National Press Secretary. Experience in government includes serving as Communications Director in the U.S. House of Representatives for Representative Derek Kilmer, as well as various positions in the United States Senate, specifically in the office of Senator Maria Cantwell. Phelps began a career in political communications as a Communications Specialist for the Minnesota House of Representatives. Phelps holds a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Iowa.
