John Buxton

John Buxton is an accomplished appraiser and business owner with extensive experience in the art industry. Since 1996, John has served as a generalist appraiser for Oceanic, African, Pre-Columbian, and American Indian art at Antiques Roadshow. As the owner of ArtTrak, Inc. and Shango Galleries since 1974, John has developed a strong presence in the art community. John has also been recognized as a CAPP with the International Society of Appraisers since 1990. John’s military background includes service in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1973, where roles included flight training and duties as an aide to the Commander of the Middle East Force. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, Philosophy, and Psychology from Tulane University, earned between 1963 and 1968.
