John Marner serves as the Assistant General Counsel at PCL Construction since July 2022. Prior to this role, John held various senior legal positions at Canadian Solar Inc. from June 2010 to May 2022, including Senior Director & General Counsel for the Energy Group, where responsibilities encompassed legal oversight of solar farm projects in Latin America, global procurement, and compliance matters. Previous roles at Canadian Solar further included leading the legal team for global systems and solutions, managing legal affairs in Canada and LATAM, and establishing the first legal team in LATAM. John began a legal career as an associate lawyer at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP, focusing on corporate and commercial law. John holds an LL.B. degree from the University of Alberta, completed in 2000.
