Scarlet Sy

CFO at PCSD

Prior to joining PCSD, Scarlet served for thirteen years as the Director of Finance for the Little Tokyo Service Center (LTSC), a complex community development organization offering a wide array of services, including social services, childcare programs, asset and property management, and real estate development. She helped guide LTSC as it grew in size and complexity, developing advanced financial accounting and analysis systems, leading teams and projects, and serving as a member of its Executive Management team.

She worked as a teacher before making the transition to nonprofit accounting and management through coursework at UCSB Extension and UCLA Extension. Her values are deeply rooted in a commitment to social justice, and she has always felt that providing access to quality public education, particularly for historically disenfranchised and low-income communities, is at the core of any solution to address socio-economic inequities.

Scarlet holds a Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies, with a minor in Philosophy from Scripps College, and she also studied Law and Philosophy at the London School of Economics.
