Barton Lux has extensive experience in budgeting, policy development, and logistics management. Barton currently serves as the Chief of the Domestic Budget Division at the Peace Corps. From 2016 to 2019, Lux worked as a Budget Analyst at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, where they were responsible for multiple budgeting tasks related to the National Cemetery Administration. Prior to that, Lux worked as a Consultant at Morgan Borszcz Consulting, providing logistics and supply chain management consulting to the U.S. Air Force. Barton also served in various roles within the U.S. Air Force, including as an Air Force Senior Policy Analyst, Logistics Squadron Commander, Training Division Chief, and Operations Officer. Barton'swork involved policy development, budget formulation, and logistics support for various operations.

Barton Lux has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Northwestern University, which they obtained from 1986 to 1990. Barton then pursued a Master of Science degree in Logistics Management from Georgia College & State University, which they completed from 2001 to 2002. Later on, in 2008 and 2009, they attended the Taiwan Air Force Institute of Technology, from where they earned a Master of Science in Logistics. Additionally, Barton Lux obtained their Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) certification from APICS in December 2015.
