Laurent's medical career began in private practice from 1992 to 1998. Academically, Laurent has a Diplôme de Docteur d’état en Médecine from Université Nationale de Cote d'Ivoire, along with a Diploma of Statistics Applied to Medicine and Medical Biology from Pierre and Marie Curie University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, completed in 2014. Laurent also holds a French Baccalaureate in Science.
