Matt Smith

Matt Smith possesses extensive experience in management and operations within international and nonprofit sectors. Currently serving as the Director of Management and Operations for Peace Corps Georgia since March 2020, Matt has previously held similar roles in the Philippines, demonstrating strong leadership in finance, administration, and general services. Prior to joining Peace Corps, Matt was the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Advisor to the President at the U.S. African Development Foundation, where strategic initiatives were developed to enhance grant management and collaboration. Experience also includes a tenure at Living Cities as Managing Director of Finance, Operations & Talent and leading strategic planning at Echoing Green as Vice President of Finance & Operations. Initial Peace Corps volunteer experience spanned between 2003 and 2006, along with procurement management at Applied Materials from 2000 to 2003. Matt holds a BA in International Relations, with a minor in Economics, from Richmond American University London and furthered studies at The London School of Economics and Political Science.
