Allan Smart

Allan Smart is an experienced professional in the fields of sports education, coaching, and hospitality. Currently serving as an Internal Quality Assurance & End Point Assessor at Pearson since January 2021, Allan assesses the Sporting Excellence Professional award in collaboration with Premier League and football league clubs in England. As a Director at OFD Education Ltd since February 2017, Allan creates inclusive football and education programs in the Oxford area. Allan also owns The Ship Inn, a public house, and has held various roles in football management and education, including Assistant Manager at Tayport FC and Educational Consultant at Abingdon Town FC. With a strong background in work-based learning as Head of Work Based Learning at VLUK and significant experience as a Youth Coach at Blackburn Rovers, Allan has also been a professional football player for various clubs over nearly two decades. Allan's educational qualifications include a PGCE in further education and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Sports Writing & Broadcasting and Broadcast Journalism from the University of Staffordshire.
