Mark Barfield is an accomplished IT leader with extensive experience in digital workplace services and infrastructure management. Currently serving as Vice President of Digital Workplace Services at Pearson since June 2019, Mark is responsible for defining the end user services roadmap for 30,000 employees and leading the adoption of new technologies. Prior roles include Director at Artilda Consulting Limited and Programme Manager (Interim) at Royal Dutch Shell, where Mark delivered enterprise-wide IT infrastructure programs. During a lengthy tenure at GlaxoSmithKline Plc, Mark held positions such as VP of Global Collaboration Services, where Mark led the implementation of Microsoft O365 tools for over 155,000 staff, and Senior Director for both Infrastructure Services in R&D and Corporate sectors. Mark began their career at Glaxo Wellcome and Prince Consulting, contributing significantly to infrastructure development and client support projects. Mark holds a BSc (Hons) in Business Information Technology from the University of Portsmouth.
