Nicholas Gerard

Nicholas Gerard has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Nicholas started their career as an Assistant Editor at Republic Polytechnic, where they co-founded and developed the first student publication. Nicholas later worked as an Editor/Writer, assisting in editing for 'Music. Republic' and supporting the communications department to boost support for local music talents in Singapore.

After that, Nicholas joined the Singapore Police Force as an SC Sergeant (NS), specializing in international aviation security laws, counter-terrorism, and criminal profiling. Nicholas protected the security and regularity of international civil aviation at Singapore Changi and Seletar airports, performing joint patrols with the Singapore Armed Forces to deter terrorism.

Nicholas then worked as a Business Executive and Executive Editor in an international internship at HG3 Digital Media. Nicholas designed and developed digital media properties, evaluated target markets, and proposed marketing strategies. Nicholas also worked on editorials for the company.

Next, Nicholas joined Joyful Frog Digital Incubator as a Researcher. Nicholas tested and validated business ideas, applying principles of innovation and lean startup methodology.

Nicholas then worked at Google Business Groups (GBG), Singapore as a GBG Manager, where they collaborated closely with the Communities - South-East Asia Outreach Department at Google APAC. Nicholas'sresponsibilities included organizing social gatherings, workshops, online hangouts, larger events, and other activities to help business professionals connect, learn, and use Google products and web technologies effectively.

Nicholas also had roles at Kairos Society and Kairos ASEAN. At the Kairos Society, they were a Global Fellow, working to find and empower young entrepreneurs who can drive innovation and positive change. At Kairos ASEAN, they served as the Director of Engagement for an invitation-only community of young business leaders and entrepreneurs across ASEAN, supporting their high-impact ventures.

Most recently, Nicholas was an Associate Manager of Community Partnerships at Peatix. Nicholas previously held roles as a Senior Business Development Manager (Asia) and Business Development Manager (Singapore & Malaysia) at the company. As a Business Development Lead, they helped set up Peatix's operations in Singapore, analyzing the market and tailoring services to target customer segments.

Nicholas then attended Republic Polytechnic from 2003 to 2006, earning a Diploma in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Biopharmaceuticals. Following this, Nicholas pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Management at the University of London from 2010 to 2013, specializing in Business Administration and Management.
