Blake Rector has extensive experience applying mathematical optimization to energy storage solutions. His models have been used to manage utility-scale assets in energy markets, and have been applied to stand-alone storage, solar storage, and behind-the-meter resources.
Blake has worked at Powin Energy for the last five years. Currently, as Director of Optimization and Valuation, his work is focused on battery cell-level analytics and directly connecting battery systems with economic optimization. Prior to that, he conducted wholesale electricity market analytics, resource valuation, and revenue forecasting with a focus on energy storage and renewables at Energy GPS LLC. Blake holds a Ph.D. in mathematical science from Portland State University.
