James Straub

James Straub has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. James is currently working as the CTO at Peek since February 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Engineering at Crowd Cow from February 2021 to September 2021. Before joining Crowd Cow, James worked at Amazon Web Services as a Software Development Manager from April 2016 to February 2021. James also had a brief role at Amazon as a Software Development Manager for the Appstore Developer Experience Team from October 2015 to April 2016.

James has experience in leadership positions, including as the Director of Engineering at Porch from March 2014 to September 2015. James was responsible for leading the engineering team and overseeing the development of Porch.com's product, as well as building infrastructure and tools to support operations.

Prior to Porch, James worked at WhitePages from September 2010 to March 2014. James initially served as a Software Engineer, later transitioning into a Software Development Manager role. During their time at WhitePages, they also had a role as a Contract Programmer at DEVONtechnologies, LLC from March 2010 to May 2010.

Earlier in their career, James held the position of Director of Development at Neokinetics Corp. (Formally ASTI) from April 2004 to May 2011. James managed a team of engineers and contributed to the design of a keystroke dynamics system.

In addition, James had a role as a Contract Senior Software Engineer at Provolve Solutions / Redpine Services from June 2009 to June 2010, where they developed and maintained server-side and client software.

Before that, they worked as a Development Manager at Amazon.com Inc from September 2002 to March 2004. James led a team of front-end developers responsible for creating specialized pages, micro-sites, and launching new stores for the Amazon Worldwide Retail and Marketing Team.
