Peel Children's Aid
Lashell E. is an experienced legal professional with a strong background in family law and a commitment to mentorship in the legal field. Currently serving as In-House Legal Counsel at Peel Children's Aid since February 2019, Lashell has also contributed as a Mentor/Assessor at Ryerson's Law Practice Program since August 2016 and as a Professor at Sheridan College in 2020, focusing on Family Law and Communication in the Legal Profession. Previous positions include In-House Legal Counsel roles at the Catholic Children's Aid Society of Hamilton and Huron-Perth Children's Aid Society, as well as experience as a Lawyer at Boggs & Levin Criminal Lawyers. Early career experience includes positions as a summer student in various legal environments, including the Ontario Ministry of the Attorney General and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. Lashell holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Windsor and a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from Carleton University.
Peel Children's Aid
Peel Children's Aid served more than 7,800 families and 16,300 children in the Region of Peel. More than 160 foster families in Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon provided homes for children in care. More than 5,500 investigations were conducted by the Agency.
