Souri Somphanith

Souri Somphanith has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Souri worked as an Operations Supervisor and Operations Assistant at PeerJ from July 2017 to the present, managing and assisting with daily operations. Prior to that, Souri handled lighting projects at Contractors Electrical Distributors starting in February 2016. From September 2015 to February 2016, they worked as a Temporary Administrative Assistant at AppleOne Employment Services.

Souri also gained research and teaching experience at Carnegie Mellon University, starting as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from September to December 2014, and subsequently serving as a Graduate Research Assistant from January to May 2015. Prior to that, they worked as a Publications Manager at the Public Library of Science from July 2013 to July 2014, and as a Publications Assistant from July 2011 to March 2013.

Souri's early work experience includes working as a Student Assistant III-IV at the University of California, Santa Cruz, Interlibrary Loan from October 2007 to June 2011. In this role, they were responsible for managing educational materials, overseeing student employees, and assisting patrons with inquiries.

Souri Somphanith completed a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in American Studies and Politics from the University of California, Santa Cruz, from the years 2007 to 2011. They then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Literary and Cultural Studies at Carnegie Mellon University, which they obtained from 2014 to 2015.
