Tom McKay

Tom McKay has extensive work experience, starting in 2002 as an Officer of Watch on HMS Norfolk. Tom then served as a Staff Officer in the Joint Operations Centre at British Forces South Atlantic Islands before becoming an Officer of Watch on HMS Edinburgh and HMS Albion. In 2004, Tom worked as a Staff Officer in Current Operations at MND(SE) Iraq. Tom returned to HMS Edinburgh as an Air Warfare Officer and Senior Warfare Officer from 2012 to 2013. Tom then joined the Royal Navy headquarters, where they held various roles including Planning Officer Air Warfare and Future Capabilities Officer. Tom served as the Executive Officer and Deputy Head of Recruitment for the Royal Navy before retraining for a new career outside the Navy. Currently, Tom is the Program Delivery Lead at Pegasystems, where they oversee the delivery of solutions and provides leadership and mentorship to ensure successful implementations and transformations.

Tom McKay earned a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from The Manchester Metropolitan University, attending from 1995 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, Tom has also obtained various certifications related to agile project management and scrum, such as the Certified SAFe® 5 Program Consultant, Certified SAFe® 6 Agilist, Certified SAFe® 6 Practice Consultant, Certified SAFe® 6 Practitioner, Certified SAFe® 6 Product Owner/Product Manager, Agile Project Management Certifications from Google, Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I), Professional Scrum Master™ II (PSM II), Certified SAFe® 5 Practitioner, Certified SAFe® 5 Agilist, Certified SAFe® 5 Product Owner/Product Manager, and Scrum Master Certification from The Knowledge Academy. These certifications were obtained between 2022 and 2023.
