Tom has worked in advisory, investing, and operating roles within the healthcare industry for over 20 years, focusing on medical products, medical technology, and diagnostics companies. Tom currently serves as CFO of NanoString Technologies (NASDAQ: NSTG), a provider of life science tools for translational research and molecular diagnostics. Previously, Tom served as the CFO for AgaMatrix, an FFC portfolio company, where he is currently a member of the board of directors.
Tom’s experience includes stints as CFO and CEO of Angiotech Pharmaceuticals Inc., a global specialty pharmaceutical and medical device company, where he led the successful sale of the company's Interventional Products Business in 2013 for over $360 million. Tom serves or has served on the boards of a number of healthcare companies, including IZI Medical Products and OncoGenex, and is also the CFO and a board member of the Homestretch Foundation, which he co-founded.
