For more than 15 years, Peña Search has partnered with nonprofit organizations – including foundations; associations; philanthropic, cultural and environmental institutions; universities and independent schools; and social / human services agencies – to recruit leaders who advance missions, strengthen governance, and reflect organizational values.

Unlike large firms where nonprofits are just one of many sectors, mission-driven organizations are our sole focus. Every search is personally led by our principals: seasoned leaders who have served in nonprofit roles themselves. We understand firsthand the pressures of board governance, fundraising, culture, and community trust.

Our approach is built on three commitments:
• Mission alignment, not just résumés. We seek leaders who bring passion and authenticity to their work.
• Partner-led attention. Every engagement is guided start-to-finish by senior partners, not delegated to junior staff.
• Enduring values. We believe strongly in the power of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Regardless of political trends, inclusive leadership strengthens organizations and communities.

From CEO and C-Suite searches to board advising and succession planning, we help mission-driven organizations recruit leaders who not only fill a role...but also advance impact.
