Mike McWherter

Mike McWherter is the Chief Compliance Officer at PenChecks. Mike has over a decade of experience in compliance and regulatory affairs.

Previously, Mike was the Chief Compliance Officer at First Mercantile Trust Company / MMFG. Mike was responsible for the company-wide compliance program, including testing for compliance with DOL/ERISA, OCC, SEC, and IRS requirements. Mike also coordinated with various departments to ensure effective management of cross-department compliance controls.

Mike is an expert in BSA/AML compliance and has implemented compliant programs at both First Mercantile and PenChecks. Mike is dedicated to ensuring that all companies they work for are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.

Mike McWherter received a Bachelor's Degree in Poli. Sci. from Lambuth University. Mike then attended The University of Memphis—Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law and received a JD in Law.
