Mike Smethurst has extensive experience in the mortgage and lending industry, currently serving as Vice President of Lending at Canada Penfund Mortgage Corporation since May 2014, where responsibilities include the placement and servicing of commercial real estate mortgage loans for various investors. Prior to this role, Mike held senior positions at TMG-The Mortgage Group Commercial as Senior Vice President and at MCAP as Director of Marketing & Insured Lending for Western Canada. Additional experience includes serving as Regional Vice President for Peoples Trust Company in British Columbia and Manitoba, for Montreal Trust Company in Western Canada, and for International Trust Company in Western Canada. Mike Smethurst holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Urban Land Economics from The University of British Columbia, earned between 1967 and 1972.
